In this deeply moving episode of the HerStory Podcast, Kylie King sits down with Leone Wilson, the founder of Harvesting Health and host of The Natural Narrative podcast. At 63 years young, Leone shares her extraordinary journey of turning personal tragedy – from surviving childhood medical trauma at Chelmsford Hospital to facing severe grief and autoimmune conditions – into a thriving “ecosystem of care.”
Integrating qualifications across naturopathy, nutrition, counseling, and psychology, Leone breaks down how her multi-disciplinary Gold Coast clinic bridges the gap between physical health and emotional well-being. She also opens up about the grit required to navigate business growth, defend a trademark while caring for her dying partner, and why you are ultimately the true expert of your own life and health.

Guest: Leone Wilson
Leone Wilson is the founder and Clinical Director of Harvesting Health, an integrative health practice on the Gold Coast, and the host of the award-winning podcast, The Natural Narrative.
Her professional journey was shaped by her own search for care. After experiencing childhood trauma, medical trauma through the Chelmsford deep sleep treatment program, PTSD, eating disorders, the loss of her first baby to SIDS, homelessness during her teens and later Hashimoto’s thyroid disease, Leone understood what it meant to feel unheard, powerless and unable to find support that considered the whole person. Having left school at fourteen, completing one university degree once seemed almost impossible. Leone has now completed degrees in naturopathy, human nutrition and counselling and is currently undertaking postgraduate psychology studies. Her decade-long education has been a deliberate pathway toward creating the kind of integrated, compassionate and evidence-informed care she once needed herself.
Through Harvesting Health, Leone brings together naturopathy, nutrition, counselling and complementary therapies within an ecosystem of care designed to improve access and reduce the fragmentation often experienced within healthcare. She also teaches and mentors future practitioners and uses The Natural Narrative podcast to make meaningful health conversations available beyond the clinic room.
Following the death of her partner, David, from glioblastoma in 2025, Leone’s work became not only her passion but also her anchor. Her story is one of transforming adversity into agency, education into empowerment and lived experience into purposeful service for others.
