In this episode of the HerStory Podcast, host Kylie King welcomes Bianca Santucci, the heart and soul behind Barking with Bianca. Bianca is a multi-award-winning entrepreneur and the 2022 winner of the ALIBI Award for “Overcoming the Odds.” Her story is a powerful testament to resilience; after being told she wasn’t capable of success due to her disability, Bianca left a toxic work environment in early childhood education to pursue her passion for animals.

Now five years into her business journey, Bianca shares how she ignored the naysayers and built a thriving dog training, daycare, and pet-sitting service. She discusses the importance of community networking, the reality of learning business “on the fly,” and why she has become a role model for youth and people with disabilities. Whether you’re a dog lover or an aspiring entrepreneur facing your own hurdles, Bianca’s “good old crack” at business will leave you feeling inspired to back yourself.

Guest: Bianca Santucci

I founded Barking with Bianca 5 years ago and at the start of the journey we just started with dog walking and pet sitting serving the local community. As a matter of fact, we still have those very same clients since the very beginning.

We then made the move into doggie daycare which has been a treat, then moved into dog training which has brought us obedience classes and much more and since then we haven’t looked back.

Seeing the growth and development of the service grow into an amazing little family could not make me anymore prouder of what I have achieved.
