In this episode of the HerStory Podcast, host Kylie King travels (metaphorically) over the Blue Mountains to the regional town of Oberon to chat with Alexandria (Alex) Cragg, the powerhouse behind Burilda Park Equine. Alex is a multifaceted entrepreneur, a journalist by trade, and the recipient of the 2022 ALIBI Award for “Regional Superstar.”
Alex shares the incredible story of how she and her husband, Lee, transformed a dilapidated potato farm into a thriving equestrian hub and retreat. This episode isn’t just about horses; it’s a raw look at business resilience. Alex discusses pivoting during COVID-19 to create online training series, surviving a life-altering horse riding accident that left her arm temporarily paralyzed, and the importance of finding mentors who teach you the value of a “longer table.” Her story is a testament to how vulnerability can be the strongest foundation for an online community.
